US Ballet companies in cinema broadcasts

Lincoln Center has announced a cinema broadcast series featuring San Francisco Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Ballet Hispanico and New York City Ballet.

All  will be previously recorded rather than live.

In partnership with Fathom Events in the US, the series presents:
 
Sept. 24: San Francisco Ballet, Helgi Tomasson's “Romeo & Juliet”, filmed in May in San Francisco. 

 
Oct. 22: Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater: Ailey’s “Revelations,” Wayne McGregor’s “Chroma,” Ronald K. Brown’s “Grace” and Robert Battle’s “Takademe” 

 

Nov. 12: Ballet Hispanico’s “Carmen.maquia” and “Club Havana”












Dec. 5 and 10: New York City Ballet: Balanchine's “Nutcracker” (recorded December 2011)
 
Some details remain to be worked out.In due course, performance venues will be announced on www.fathomevents.com

No word yet on whether any of these will be shown in Canada.
