Video: Kenneth MacMillan's Chanson pas de deux

Yet another exquisite, rarely seen pas de deux from Kenneth MacMillan, the master of the genre, featuring David Wall and Alessandra Ferri. David Wall, former principal dancer of the Royal Ballet, died yesterday at age 67. He created the role of Prince Rudolf in MacMillan's Mayerling and Lescaut in Manon.
This pas de deux is set to the Shepherd's Song from Canteloube's Chants d'Auvergne: http://youtu.be/43z3aQspFtc

For another beautiful MacMillan pas de deux, see this post.

  1. Greetings fellow ballet lovers.

This ballet is choreographed by Derek Deane and premiered at the Ballet Gala held at Sadler's Wells in 1982. The YouTube post incorrectly attributes it to Kenneth MacMillan. For supporting source text please search for the newspaper review by Ann Nugent in The Stage and Television Today, October 28, 1982.
