Allegro Brillante: a bravura piece set to Tchaikovsky's 3^rd Piano Concerto about which Balanchine said: "It contains everything I know about the classical ballet in 13 minutes."

Evening: 3-course dinner, then

meet a New York City Ballet dancer who will give us a tour of the David H Koch theatre, followed by a “First Position” discussion before the New York City Ballet performance of:
Donizetti Variations: Balanchine's cheerful and sunny tribute to Bournonville

Agon: one of the major ballets of the 20^th century, Balanchine's homage to modernism Fancy Free: the entertaining story of three World War II sailors on shore leave that launched Jerome Robbins' career as a choreographer and formed the basis for the musical On The Town.

Visit to New York City Ballet costume shop.
