Aleksandar Antonijevic, retiring Principal Dancer with the National Ballet of Canada, will be showing an exhibit of portraits of his colleagues this May. This is how he describes the photographs:
" I wanted to in some way, celebrate my colleagues, the dancers of The National Ballet of Canada, and the only way I know how to, is through my fine art photography. I have created a series of large portraits in which I examine the relationship between a private and public persona. Our most recognized and established Principal Dancers I photographed in productions that have left an impressive mark on their careers and the younger members of the company as themselves: young, inexperienced and hungry individuals that are trying to carve an artistic road for themselves."
