Hamburg Ballet: new Nijinsky trailer

For those of you who would like to be reminded what a fab ballet Neumeier's Nijinsky is, a new trailer from Hamburg Ballet, featuring Alexandre Riabko

  1. Oh my goodness, that was sooooo incredible, I watched it two times over and I think I'm going to have to go back for a third. I thought I was sick to death of Rimsky-Korzakov's Scheherazade (overplayed it in my teens), but setting it to movement - wow! And that phenomenal dancer (as well as being a sublime actor) - wow.

    I wouldn't have found this link on my own - thank you soooo much for sharing it!

  2. You're welcome, Terez. Did you not see Hamburg when they performed Nijinsky in SF earlier this year? What a shame! Alexandre Riabko was truly awesome (he guested with the National Ballet of Canada when they performed it in March), you felt he was entirely possessed by the character of Nijinsky, to the point one thought he had really gone mad at the end and was surprised to see him smiling moments later at the curtain calls!
