Ballet and women
A fascinating program hosted by former Royal Ballet ballerina Deborah Bull looking at how the image of women in ballet has been determined by male choreographers, notably Marius Petipa, Frederick Ashton, Kenneth MacMillan, George Balanchine, and William Forsythe. Rehearsal and performance footage of Rose Adagio, final scene of Two Pigeons, excerpt from The Invitation, Herman Schmerman, and Balanchine's Duo Concertant. Adam Cooper partners Bull, and Lynn Seymour provides coaching and commentary.
